Serve as the College's chief
administrative officer for the Division of Student Affairs and
the chief student affairs officer, reporting directly to the President
of the College and serving as a member of the President's Cabinet
and the President's Management Team. Charged with providing leadership
for a high-quality student-centered Division that maximizes the
experience of students both inside and outside the classroom. Direct
supervision and responsibility for providing leadership, policy
review, program development, and budget supervision for the following
functional areas: Residence Life; Campus Life & Activities;
Psychological Counseling; Health Services; Career Development;
Student Financial Aid; Physical Education, Recreation, & Athletics;
Judicial Affairs; International Programs and Services (including
Study Abroad); Commuter Student Services; New Student Orientation;
Commencement; and Student Government. Provide indirect supervision,
through unit managers, for: Leadership Education; Diversity
Advocacy; Student Center Operations; Campus Transportation System;
Services for Students with Disabilities; and Health & Peer
Education. Manage budget of over $4.3 million and a staff of
more than 50 full-time equivalent employees. Serve as advisor to
the Purchase Student Government Association and as a member of
the College's Strategic Planning Committee, Budget Committee, Retention
Committee, Enrollment Management Implementation Team, and as an
ex-officio member of the Purchase All-College Senate. As a member
of the President's Management Team, assist in the direction and
coordination of an all-College all-funds budget, College operations,
human resources, and capital facilities project development and
implementation. In collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer,
coordinate the development of plans for completion of construction
of new 400 bed apartment complex (in progress), construction of
two new 200-bed residence halls with commercial/retail space (under
development), renovations to existing residential facilities and
the Student Center and Campus Centers (in progress and under development),
and construction of the new Student Services Building (in progress).
Creating a system of regular and systematic assessment of Student
Affairs departments and the Division of Student Affairs as a whole
to ensure high-quality student services and the retention and development
of a high-quality student body. Serve as the chief student advocate,
providing advice and counsel to various student leaders and work
to insure that a diversity of student perspectives are considered
at the cabinet level.

administrative officer for the Division of Student Affairs, reporting
directly to the Vice President for Students Affairs, as a member
of the Division of Student Affairs' cabinet, and as designee of
the Vice President when requested by, or in the absence of, the
Vice President. Provided leadership in effort to improve the quality
of student life on campus and as the internal College officer in
charge of coordination of retention efforts. Directly responsible
for and provided leadership, policy review, program development,
and budgetary supervision for the following areas: Judicial
Affairs, Commuter Student Services, New Student Orientation Programs;
and Student Government. Served as budget manager on behalf
of the Vice President for the Division of Student Affairs. Assisted
other divisional unit managers with policy and program development.
Served as a judicial officer for the campus judicial system and
as the direct liaison between the Division of Student Affairs and
the NY State University Police Department. Charged with
developing a streamlined system to ensure timely reporting and
action on reports of violations of College policy and improving
and streamlining the procedures which govern the inter-relationships
between the State University Police, the on-call staff in the Division
of Student Affairs, and the judicial system. Served as advisor
to and signatory authority for the Purchase Student Government
Association and as a Designated School Official for international
student services to ensure compliance with former Immigration and
Naturalization Service regulations and the new Department of Homeland
Security SEVIS system. Compiled and authored Student Handbook
and Academic Planner, along with other divisional publications.
Evaluated all requests for medical and personal leaves of absence
and voluntary withdrawals. Assisted in the coordination of campus-wide
programs, including the All-campus Awards Ceremony and Commencement.
(While in this position received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence
in Professional Service (May 2001), the highest honor for a professional
employee within the
SUNY system.)

College's student development and student activities operation,
including serving as budget manager for all student activities
accounts. Directed the creation, planning, publicity, and implementation
of campus-wide social, co-curricular, community service and diversity

Assistant Director for Activities, Coordinator for Service Learning & Religious
Life, and Office Manager. Indirectly supervised eight para-professional
Program Managers, two para-professional Community Service Assistants,
two para-professional Administrative Assistants, and eight student
technical services and operations assistants. Oversaw and served
as building manager for three buildings, including two campus centers
and an all-campus programming building. Participated in and coordinated
weekly professional staff duty rotation and provided evening and
weekend coverage for events.

of a formal Discrimination Policy for the College and served as
designee of the Vice President for Student Affairs by investigating
and recommending solutions to formal grievances initiated by students.
Compiled, authored, and managed the design, production, printing,
and distribution of a new Student Handbook & Academic Planner,
Divisional Newsletter, and all other annual divisional publications.
Developed and coordinated scheduling and operations of the Purchase
College - Pace University shuttle service for Purchase students
living at Pace University in Briarcliff, New York. Charged with
creation of a judicial affairs database system to track offenses
and acted as procedural officer for campus Judicial Board and Appeals
Board hearings. On behalf of the Vice President, worked to develop
relationships with local government agencies, including the Westchester
County Department of Transportation and Board of Elections. Created
and oversaw the comprehensive student fee waiver system. Coordinated
the collection of information and materials for inclusion in a
student life and services website. Developed and operated a system
to streamline the evaluation and processing of all requests for
Personal and Medical Leaves of Absence and voluntary withdrawals
on behalf of the Vice President.
